Ali vs Terrell.
I loved the way Ali did not stop humiliating Terrell. He humiliated him with words and with punishment. I did not get to see this fight I listened to it on the radio. Same with the Williams fight.
My mom and I were listening to the Terrell fight in the living room and it was the first time I heard her swear. She said; 'That bastard' when the announcer reported how Ali kept hitting Terrell and asking 'What's my name'. My mother never understood why Ali was not willing to go to Viet Nam while she was willing to send me there. I never understood mom either.
Just look at the combinations at the end of the 15th round.

I love to watch these Ali/Frazier/Foreman footages. Nothing in boxing gets close to this nowadays = it's one big saga in which human characters are displayed, a LOT to learn from watching these guys fight, talk, their whole lifes, how are they today. I used to spend hours in the net on this.
Ali for me had some significant hole in his character (not to take anything from his greatnes...). Taunting Terrell his is a sign of that I think (not that it was totally undeserved). Frazier put it awkwardly well to me - "His mistake was that he constantly was referring to himself as 'I am the greatest'. You can be great but you can't be this: 'I am the greatest', know what I'm saying?" - I have a feeling that it's a kind of brilliant line.
These guys know each other to death. Ali in his own way, admitted what Frazier said IMO saying "God gave me that disease to remind me that he's the greatest, not me".

I always felt Cassius Clay was the prime Ali, the three years he lost is unforgivable, that's another story. To Fraziers credit, he defeated the greatest in a 15 round war.

My brother and I saw the first Ali Frazier matchup. That was one hell of a fight.
Alis weakness was his lack of traditional boxing skills. He relied on his natural abilities and they were immense. When he got older they failed him.
