The contracts been signed and its set, Mayweather will take on Shane Mosley (I think late March or early April). Of course...like all of FMJs fights, it will be on PPV.
The interesting dynamic about this fight is the imposition of Olympic Style Drug Testing, which is random and frequent. Mosley is well aware of Mosley's roid use. Hell, at this point, who isnt?
These pro athletes of today...the rich ones at least, are quite sophisticated and resourceful in their usage of performance enhancing drugs or PEDs. There are all types designed to escape detection or to mask detection by increasing other chemical levels that imply something other than PEDs. The big pharma companies are very crafty and this is a great opportunity for them to develop the kind of drugs that they will use in the future to control the populace.
So...it is possible Mosley will be clean for that fight. Can a clean Mosley, like the one we saw fight Ricardo Mayorga a couple of years ago...be able to deal with the speed and crafty defensive skills of Floyd?
I can see FMJ winning a decision in a boring fight where nobody gets hurt or even bruised. DLH promotes Mosley and FMJ to a degree...so its possible that this whole fight is a business deal to create two fights after Floyd wins the first time by a hair...and that's double the money. Mosley is old and without roids...I know he wouldn'ta beat Margarito the way he did.
Ultimately I dont care what people put in their bodies so long as it don't affect me or mine. That's peoples own business. But to use PEDs in boxing is very dangerous...especially if your opponent isn't using them too. And if they're both using them...where's the advantage?
Somehow I can't help but think Mayweather will find a way to pull out of this fight. If he actually fights Shane, it will do good for his tattered reputation, that he only fights washed up fighters on the downslide of their careers.
But Floyd is only about one thing...the Money.
My guess is he'll do what's most financially beneficial...fuck honor and sport.
