I don't care for it but a band from my home town is a big metal rave in Europe. They can't sell out a 400 seat hall in the U.S, but they sell out stadiums for days on end in Europe. The bass player used to come in while I was working in the store at nights and the security guard would follow him around. He followed anyone who did not look like Ward Cleaver. My son and his wife are flying to Germany for this tour. www.manowar.com/home.php

Early heavy metal was great but the latest stuff I don't like much. ANd it's ironis that some of the best ballads have been written by heavy metal type dudes
Have you heard any Death Metal? Every band sounds the same and it's obligatory for the singer to sing in an un-naturallyy deep growl, like you'd imagine the devil himself to sound. It's ridiculous and cliched

In reality we're all salmon, and then the government has made the Hanford nuclear reactor to make things difficult.

I was a young pioneer in the metal world, got sick of it when the promoters started pushing the glam metal crap. Even still there were some talented metal glam bands out there. Men with tight leather outfits and full make-up are a definite turn off for the majority hetro world. What the fuck were they thinking? The agents of the hard rock-metal transition were bands such as later Sabbath, Scorpions, BOC, Judas Priest, and full fueled nutjob blues/rock geared AC/DC.

This band has been around for decades. My son for some reason likes them and is a metal aficionado. Like Az mentioned early metal was something fresh. Every thing goes to seed and finally dies. I have a picture of my son with a ManOWar tee shirt on standing next to Bill Gates. I think this band majors on norse mythology.
I'm not a metal fan, but I can listen to m,ost anything for a brief time.
I can't imagine flying to Germany to see them.

Man o War was a good band, Armoured Saint, Tank & Saxon was fun listening as well. Right now i'm listening to a lot of blues, last year the 80's metal band Raven was on the block for a few weeks...go figure? Variety is the spice of life i guess.

The guy that would come in the store had red hair down to his hips and usually had a much younger female with him. But he drove a beat up old white pick-up truck. I don't think they got rich but they have their own studio and do things their way.
