I would choose the time between Dempsey and Ali.

I like the heavyweights, and my favorite era is right now, because I think that the heavyweight division is now bigger and better, and - importantly - more international in scope than it ever was before. I think that the K brothers are a phenomenon unmatched in the history of boxing, and I think their dominance of the heavyweight division is unmatched in any sport since the days when Babe Ruth dominated baseball to the extent that he hit more home runs than the rest of the whole league combined.

Since boxing does NOT take care of their own, all the best American HWs are playing line backer in the NFL! I bet if boxing paid their athletes better, gave them a guaranteed future for x amount of years fighting...we'd see the Klitschkos get their asses handed to them. There's just no one out there now. Vitali is DANGEROUS but face it, he's getting too old to continue boxing much longer. And Wladimir has great skills but he isn't very exciting to watch as he's a bit terrified of being hit. I do like that the europeans have dominated many of boxings divisions that used to be the realm of American fighters. But its my opinion that boxing gets exciting from 147 down...to like 126. These guys FIGHT! Pure action! HWs are boring and there's only what...2 good HWs in the world? The K brothers.

Sorry about getting back to this so late. First I think the 'K's' are better than average heavyweights. Not only in the time they are fighting in but in a lot of time.
However I would love to see them in against Dempsey, Marciano Ali, Wolcott, Frazier or Liston. Let's throw Moore in there too.
The 'K's' have never shown a lack of heart they have shown vulnerability. I think it is possible all of the fighters I named could make evident the vulnerability of the 'K's'.
