I've never understood the desire to build elaborate places for Gods to live in or to be worshiped in. I doubt aliens had anything to do with this not to mention Obama bucks. It definitely shows Buddhist and Indian influence in the themes shown in the architecture. The elephant has a venerable history in India's religious experience. www.colorsofindia.com/indianelephant/myth.htmIt should be remembered that religions are only stories told to explain a greater reality. They are never literally true, but point to something beyond themselves. I'm still trying to figure out what is behind the 'blood atonement' and 'Trinity'. I suppose with religious concepts it is best to be approached honestly without the idea that we can never pin it down. Once a 'God' is described it is like a butterfly on a cork board with a pin through it. It is dead.

Southeast Asia was indeed under Indian Buddhist influence. Prior to European traders taking oveR, islam had already spread through the islands up to Mindanao in the Philipines. The only area that remained Buddhist is the island of Bali.

Yes, all roads lead home. And all humans, unfortunately, require an explanation for the journey. The explanations, for the most part, resulted in endless years of violence. Awesome!
