Allen Ginsberg said of his poem 'Howl' that it was all 'Lester Leaps In'; the song below.
A short film with Lester Young: 'Jammin' the Blues' from 1944. In retrospect the mainstream media trying to produce the hip, 'race music' is somewhat funny in the opening commentary. But even so it indicates an appreciation for the 'darker' side of life. The world would be worse off if this music and the 'soul' that produced it had not existed. It's good stuff.

That is real good music. It's in the bop tradition. Have not heard of him.
