I've been thinking that in order to calculate the damages that the fisherman have had in the Gulf, all seafood caught in the Gulf should be labeled as such. This will make it easier to track the decline in sales and make a closer estimate of the damages big business has done to America. Along the same lines congress regulates our food industry too. The same thing periodically happens there with contaminated meat being provided for human consumption by corporations. Now that they are 'natural people' there liability should be what it would be for you and me if we poisoned someone.

Even if BP does pay out a lot (supposedly they have a rock solid law saying except for cleanup costs they are only liable for 75 million but I am sure they will pay out a lot more for public relations if anything ) a lot of those guys are in trouble because if they are like Florida a lot of their business is done under the table to avoid some taxes so BP will probably give them what their prior year earnings was on their tax form at the very most.

Well there are the tourist industries that are now down by 50% and when the oil hits shore it will be down more. The fumes are harming people with respiratory problems. If some one dies as a result of the fumes what should the penalty be. It would be manslaughter ordinarily if a 'natural person' came and did it.
