The only problem that I have with most homeless people is that they mostly try to claim they need money for food that they are hungry while in almost the entire US (short of some really remote area) they can get food and basic clothing with no problem from agencies/churches. The only time I saw them use money they got from people for anything besides alcohol was a few times I saw them buy coffee in the morning but I guess they figure people wouldnt give them anything if they admitted it was for alcohol. That is a bad situation they are in however especially with how the economy is now and the jobs situation.

It could be any of us. I went to Lazer Quick today and out front were two shopping carts full of what I would call trash. Inside was an obviously not all together homeless person renting computer time, his bill came to $1.90 The charge was $10 an hour or $1.50 for 10 minutes.
It was clear to me that this person could not attain to anything but being a homeless derelict. I wondered if i would ever find myself in his position.

You have some that have real serious mental issues but the rest it can be a crap shoot I guess of whether you have a family that is willing to assist you with a place to stay in hard times. Many don't now as family doesnt seem to mean much anymore to a lot of people. If I ever became homeless I would try and keep the appearance of not being homeless and would stay on the outskirts of town at night and just keep on the move during the day so it wasnt obvious.

With what appears to be the inevitable collapse of society it would be appropriate if people began to set themselves up to live without the things society provides like food electricity and drinking water. Also being mobile would be helpful.

I've spent summers in New Orleans and San Antonio so I know what you mean.
