What the nation has become is unspeakably evil. It's a pity that the western hemisphere wasn't left to the indians. ww Natives had their own way of behaving. Cruelty and evil exist within a specific framework which defined their reality. Just like westerners do. It is the context that designations such as 'cruel' evil' or 'good' are drawn from. For instance are the Jews evil for killing animals to atone for their own fuckups. Or are Christians evil because they agree to let let an innocent man be executed for them while they claim to be worthy of death? You see what I mean about 'context' from those examples.

"Natives had their own way of behaving. Cruelty and evil exist within a specific framework which defined their reality. Just like westerners do."
No way would I try to glorify or Disneyize or danceswithwolfs-ize the Amerindians. For one thing they were into torture. But, as they say, they lived more harmoniously with the natural world.
"No beast so fierce but knows some touch of pity. But I know none, and therefore am no beast."
Worse. Human.

There is an excellent movie you might want to purchase. It is called 'Black Robe' it is set in Canada in the 1600's and involves a Jesuit missionary who is on a journey to convert the savages but has an unexpected challange to his faith along the way. You may be able to watch it online at the link below. www.ovguide.com/movies_tv/black_robe.htm"Natives had their own way of behaving.
