The Agony of Jimmy Quinlan Janice Brown, 1978, 27 min 7 s www.nfb.ca/film/the-agony-of-jimmy-quinlan/This documentary follows Jimmy Quinlan, one of some 5000 men and women who have abandoned their jobs and families to live in the streets and alleys in Montreal. This film, a powerful portrayal of life on skid row, tells of Jimmy's "agonies," especially his attempt to get off the bottle. It's something he's tried before and will probably have to try again. .

Alcohol is a really seductive drug, as are all drugs that reach into the pleasure centers of the brain. I watched that documentary on the homeless with shopping carts in BC. That was very good.
My son is going to be engaged in making a documentary involving racism. He's getting funding now and hopes to begin within the year. Right now he is in the beginning stages.
