A series of photos taken at 'Battery Russell' a 'Peace Memorial'in Fort Stevens park. It is the site of the only attack on U.S. soil by the Japanese during WW2. I have see 'war memorials'; never before have I seen a peace memorial.
The first is a marble icon telling of the pact between the U.S. and Japan.
The photos below caught my eye in the morning light. They are of a hallway in front of the battery.
The natural shadows caught my eye and then I altered them a bit. The idea I have in this is to produce a progression to disorientation where the ordinary is transformed into something that precedes initiation into the non-ordinary.
Hope it works.
