I was at Yosemite about 3 months ago. They're always doing these controlled burns. They have signs up telling us not to call 911 because they know what they're doing, but this time it looks like they didn't.

They have signs up telling us not to call 911 because they know what they're doing, but this time it looks like they didn't. I was only in Yosemite once and it was fabulous. 1983 it was. Yeah they fucked it up. Now if it was a 'citizen' he'd be looking at a misdemeanor charge or worse.

Out here they burn portions of the moors each years, on a number of occassions the fires have run wild and come close to destroying private property. On a lighter note, the fires also spread poison ivy (Urushiol), the ash is transported by wind, inhaled and spread through the bloodstream. Not pleasant.

On a lighter note, the fires also spread poison ivy (Urushiol), the ash is transported by wind, inhaled and spread through the bloodstream. Not pleasant. Burning is common. They were going to ban it in New York. I read recently that here in Oregon there is a grass seed industry that would burn its fields. Now they are forbidden due to environmental concerns. It will raise the price of grass seed. Right now in this area it is forbidden because of how dry it is.
