I went to the beach and it was hazy with fog. I saw a log and walked toward it. As I got closer I saw more than a log. There were some kind of shell fish attached to it and another kind of creature that seemed to be feeding on it. I don't know what they were. I have had it suggested to me that they were anemones. I can't say. I became quite impressed with what I saw. I understood it was the life of the world. It just 'wowed' me. I find a profound philosophical beauty here.

Incredible, never seen anything like it. Taj didn't know either, but suspected the 'tubes' were part of the mussels. The pictures are interesting to look at. I used the close up feature and took most of them from a distance of 4 inches or so.

There is a kind of beauty in it. I've found a lot of sea life and sea forms that has a kind of beauty no often appreciated. I often spend a lot of time taking pictures of things that others walk by.
I'm fairly certain that the fringe on the end of the tubes are the way they feed. The filter small particles of nutrient in the tide as their way of eating.
